Prepping For Your Appointment
To ensure the best results and minimize any complications, please follow these instructions carefully before your lip blush appointment:
1 Week Before:
Start a Lip Hydration Routine: Apply a hydrating balm or lip mask daily.
Exfoliate lips gently 2–3 times during the week using a sugar scrub or a damp washcloth to remove dead skin.
Take all your vitamins & supplements! The healthier you are the faster your body will heal. 🤍
If prone to cold sores, get a prescription antiviral (e.g., Valtrex or Acyclovir) and start taking it as prescribed, usually 2-4 days before your appointment. Lip Tattooing can trigger outbreaks.
3 Days Before:
Avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E, as these can thin your blood and increase bleeding/bruising.
Arnica Montana is a great supplement to begin taking prior to and after your appointment to significantly reduce bruising/inflammation.
Avoid intense sun exposure or tanning. No sunburned or chapped lips, please.
Day Before:
Stay hydrated! Drink plenty of water to keep lips plump and hydrated.
Avoid caffeine and alcohol in the evening before your appointment.
Day Of Appointment:
No caffeine, alcohol, or energy drinks— these increase sensitivity and bleeding. Eat a good meal before arriving!
Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin and lips (chapstick okay).
You may take Tylenol (acetaminophen) if needed for discomfort (no ibuprofen or aspirin).
Additional Information:
If you've had fillers or injections in the lip area, wait at least 4 weeks before getting lip blush.
If you have any medical conditions or are on medication, please notify us in advance.
If you're pregnant or nursing, lip blush services cannot be performed.
